Development of high basicity covering flux for tundish in Baosteel is introduced. It's pointed out that an increase in the basicity of the tundish covering flux is assumed to be an effective measure to prevent against return flow of hot metal into the tundish and eliminate the contamination of the hot metal by the covering flux itself, and therefore it's of great significance for improvement of the slab quality.
