On the Allusion and Its Translation in Newspaper English

现代报刊英语引喻主要指出自近代生活各个领域的词语典故。由于社会的发展 ,时局的变迁 ,这些引喻多来自于政治、军事、科技、经济等背景。外语工作者在引喻的翻译中需要运用多种手段使读者理解本义 ,直译、意译、补偿、注释等都应该得到重视 。

Modern allusion in newspaper English mainly refers to the allusion in various fields of recent life. Most of them are of political, military, scientific and economic background because of the social changes and social development. Foreign language researchers should help readers understand the allusions by means of different approaches in translation. Literal translation, free translation, compensation or notes are some of the important methods for better delivery of meaning.
