A Brief Remark on Tenor and Domain in Discourse

语旨和语域是影响语言运用的两个因素,它们会对任何语篇产生综合性影响。通过对实例语篇的分析,分别对语旨和语域的作用进行了较系统的阐述,然后简单概括了三个范畴(语域、语式、语旨)的综合运用并得出结论:只有从三个方面对语篇作全面分析,人们才能看到语篇的全貌,对语篇有更深刻的理解。

Tenor and domain are two factors which affect language use and have a combined effect on any discourse. This paper, through the analyses of discourse samples, illustrates first in details the effect of tenor and domain, then describes briefly the combining categories (domain, mode, tenor) of use, and finally concludes that only through a comprehensive analysis in three aspects, can people get a complete picture and deep understanding of a discourse.
