大约在战国至西汉期间,在以滇池为中心的云南中部和东部地区,古代少数民族建立了一个补称为“滇”的古王国。由于当时云南的少数民族尚未使用文字，其光辉历史和灿烂文化逐渐湮灭在时光的流逝中，仅有一些零星的记载出现在史籍里。
