党的十六大提出了全面建设小康社会的目标,开辟了中国社会主义现代化建设的新阶段。“小康社会”是近代中国历史进程的产物,是中国现代化进程中承上启下的阶段,是中国社会主义初级阶段的社会形态。理解和贯彻十六大精神,要在理论上明确小康社会的历史定位。

In the sixteenth congress,Our Party put forth the goal for developing the Xiao-Kang society completely,has inaugurated the new stage for bringing up modernization process of Chinese socialism.The Xi-aoKang society is result from Chinese history of modern.It is a stage of Chinese modernization process be-tween the preceding and the following,and the social pattern of socialist primary stage of China.To compre-hend and carry through the spirit of the sixteenth congress,we will clearly understand the fixed position of the history theoretically.
