After the Norman Conquest, primogeniture was established in most part of Britain. The primogeniture guaranteed the entity of the held land by dividing families. It was the division that led to many changes in English history. The institution gave essential influence to the social movement and relationship including the floating of population, the relationship between rural and urban areas, even the formation of the western social value.
