How About Using A New Point of View? ——Rethinking of Yan Fu's Xin, Da and Ya

跳出传统的“原语中心说”的框框,从“译语中心说”的视角重新审视严复的译事三难,即“信”、“达”、“雅”,不难得出“信”为“诚信”,“达”为“可传达性”,“雅”为“用标准语”的结论。由此可见“信、达、雅”的翻译标准是一个完整的有机体,是融道德标准、内容标准和语言标准三者于一体的标准体系。

Instead of thinking on the base of 'Source-central theory', this article intends to re-explain Yan Fu's translation criteria: Xin, Da and Ya from an argle of 'Target-central theory',argues that Xin is sincerity, Da is communicability and Ya is norm. And then the article points out that the translation criteria of Xin, Da and Ya are a complete organism, a consistent system including code of ethics, criteria of content and languages.
