摘要
In 1997, the Huayuanzhuang site north of the Huanshui River in Henan Anyang yielded plentiful animal bones, which were all collected by the excavation unit and were carefully measured and identified. Sorting and analysis of these remains indicate that the animals used at that time comprised at least 11 species, i.e. the Lamprotula, clam, black carp, chicken, dog, rhinoceros, domestic pig, David's deer, ox, buffalo, and sheep. Some o:[ them suggest that in the then Anyang area it was warmer and damper than present times. The bones of domestic pigs, dogs, chickens and sheep account for 93% of the total animal remains, and those of pigs are the largest in number. No horse-bones were found, so the emergence of the domestic horse in the Yin Ruins area remains a problem worthy of further research.
