水彩同其它画种一样，订着自身的特点，它不同于国画、油画甚至足水粉画，但是水彩画从对生活题材的选取和表现，从审美的要求，从作者的修养方面来看，同其它画种是共通的。如果偏离这一点，就会削弱其探索美的意义，削弱对生活的敏锐观察与感受。
