“同经异译”与佛经语言特点管窥

汉译佛经中存在不少的"同经异译",由于产生于不同时代或同一时代的不同译者,颇可凸显佛经语言的若干特点。本文撷取东汉、西晋的两经四译以为标本,从语式、语义、语汇、语法诸方面进行考察、比较,藉以揭示与探讨早期译经语言特点形成的某些踪迹。此种工作,对于目前相对而言尚为薄弱的中古汉语研究,似亦不无裨益。

Sutra was translated into Chinese out of several hands over a wide span of time, as a result ofwhich varied Chinese versions co-exit, and at the same time give rise to a set of featurescharacteristic of Sutra translation. Based on two Scripts with two Chinese translations madeduring the Late Han and West Jin, this paper explores the textual features of the translations interms of prosody, semantics, lexicon, and syntax. It attempts to capture the textual featureswhich were characteristic of the translation carried out during that particular period. Studies ofsimilar nature are rare, and in this regard, the present study can prove to be useful.
