Seroepidemiology of Helicobacter pylori Infection among Asymptomatic Children

Recent retrospective epidemiologic date from in adults suggest that Hp infection was mainly contracted in childhood, and it's actual colonization in gastric mucosa would be determined by many factors during childhood. Therefore, children are considered to be highest risk population. The aims of this study was to investigate the prevalence of Hp infection among asymptomatic Chinese children and possible relationship between the socioeconmic status of their families and prevalence. Serum Hp-IgG antibodies of 1119 asymptomatic children 7-14years of age were measured by ELISA method and GAP IgG Kit.
