Proverb comes from the folklore and reflects people's wisdom,which includes lots of plain philosophic theory. A proverb, in fact, is an adage. It is the truth which can be accepted anywhere and anytime. The author introduces the skills to translate English proverbs and specially points out the important ways to translate English proverbs by combining them with the society, history and culture of the target countries.
