我厂是生产煤矿运输机械设备及专用设备的工厂．煤矿井上井下用的各种天轮是我厂的主要产品之一。过去这些天轮是采用铸铁材质生产的．但铸铁天轮强度低、耐磨性差、寿命短，不能很好地满足煤矿运送各种物料及人员安全的要求，所以近年来要求使用铸钢天轮的用户越来越多。

This article introduces the design of the casting technique of the gear pulley which is used for coal min. ing. It maitlly discusses the operation principle of all casting production process. In the design of the pattern plate, because of the symmetry of the pulley, it is possible that the cope mold and the drag mold are producted by one pat. tern plate. Secondly, because the pattern plate has composite construction made of metallic pattern. mounted pattern frame and concrete, the problem of manufacturing large size pattern plates had been solved.
