The paper introduces the six letters sent each other between Wang Yirong (1845-1900), epigraphist and head of inscriptions on bones or tortoise shells of the Shang Dynasty (c. 16th-11th century B.C.), and General Song Qing (1820-1902), in the late Qing Dynasty. Wang and Song were townsmen and good friends, and these letters are historical literatures understanding the activities of the bureaucrat class of the late Qing Dynasty.
