Expatiation on the Essential Cultural Factors for the Prosperity and Decline of Guqin in Japan

本文试图阐释古琴艺术在日本兴衰起伏、曲折发展的文化要因 ,并评价明末清初东渡的东皋心越禅师对日本古琴艺术复兴的贡献。

The author tries to expatiate on the essential cultural factors for the prosperity and decline of guqin in Japan. Meanwhile, he also makes comments on the contribution to the renaissance of guqin art in Japan by Dong Gao, an honourable Buddhist monk named Xinyue, who went to Japan during the period of late Ming and early Qing dynasties in Chinese history.
