The Study on the Relationship between Rice Planting Culture and Folk Custom in Huzhou

稻作文化 ,包含了对水稻的起源、流变及水稻本身和生产技术问题的研究 ,还涵盖了由于水稻生产而影响所及的民间生活方式和生产习俗。湖州地处太湖流域的杭嘉湖平原腹地 ,亚热带湿润性的季风气候及水域广阔的自然生态环境 ,适宜种植水稻。在漫长的历史进程中 ,湖州地区这渐形成了与水稻生产相联系的稻作文化习俗和生活民俗。

Rice planting culture not only consists of the study on the origin, the transformation of rice, the rice itself and the producing techniques concerned, but also covers the folk living ways and the production customs influenced by the rice production. Huzhou is located on the Hangjiahu plain in Taihu Lake valley. With sub-tropical climate of wet monsoon and natural biological surroundings of wide water area, Huzhou provides a good place to plant rice. In this way, the rice planting culture and the related folk custom become the unique feature of Huzhou area.
