Some Opinions about the Functions and Application Principles of Computer Assisted Instruction (CAI) in English Teaching

本文在理论和实践的基础上就计算机辅助教学在英语教学中的功能进行了阐述 ,它能创设丰富的语言环境、激发学生的学习兴趣、增大课堂容量、提高教学效率、改革教学手段及拓宽教学资源渠道。同时 ,对于计算机辅助英语教学的实施提出了教学需要、学生主体。

This paper illustrates the functions of CAI in English teaching on the basis of theory and practice. It can offer abundant language situation, stimulate the students' interest, increase class capacity, raise teaching efficiency, improve teaching methods and enrich teaching resources. It also puts forward four principles of its application, that is, principles of teaching need, student subject, practicality and high-efficiency and innovation.
