Translation: Cross-linguistic Communication and Information Processing

从信息论和交际学的角度来看 ,翻译的实质是话语信息的语际传递。语际间传递的信息主要有概念信息、实用信息、形象信息、文化信息、风格信息和形式信息等几种类型。翻译过程中对这些信息的处理应遵循“先等效 ,后等值”的原则。

Based on the science of information and communication, this paper elaborates on the nature of translation as the transfer of discourse information from SL to TL. It classifies information into different types according to the function, implicitness and explicitness of discourse information and the basic requirement of translation. Furthermore, in view of the communicative nature of translation, functional equivalence should go before value equivalence.
