Moriogai and His Literary Creation

森鸥外是日本近代文坛独领风骚的文学大家。他一生几乎都在为日本军界服务。身为军医 ,他一方面致力于医学研究 ,另一方面又为日本近代文坛的进步与发展做出了巨大贡献。他的文学创作大致分为三个时期 ,即译介西方文学和浪漫主义文学创作、现实主义和浪漫主义相结合的文学创作、历史小说创作。从他创作的文学主题上 ,我们既可以看到东西文化的交汇 。

Moriogai is one of the most outstanding writers in modern Japanese literary field. He almost devotes all of his life to the military service. As an army doctor, he has not only done medical research but also made great contributions to the development of Japanese modern literature. His literary writings can be divided into three periods: Western literature translations and romantic novels, writings that combine realism and romanticism, and historical novels. From the themes of his writings emerge the convergence of Eastern and Western cultures, as well as the conflicts between being a bureaucrat and being a writer translations.
