Discourse Management and Strategic Competence in Raising Oral Communicative Competence --An Analysis of BEC Speaking Test

BEC交际口语测试为我国英语口语教学和口语测试提供了一个研究、学习的范例。通过分析交际口语测试的理论背景 ,介绍 BEC交际口语测试的特点 ,建议加强话语运用和交际策略的实践研究以提高我国学生英语口语交际能力。

BEC communicative speaking test provides a model for oral English teaching and testing in China. Through introducing its characteristics, we analyze the linguistic theory underlying BEC communicative testing system. To raise communicative competence, we should focus more on practice, especially on two major weaknesses of Chinese learners: discourse management and strategic competence.
