Pragmatic Merging and Imagery Reappearance --Interpretation on the Semiotic Approach to "Transformation

“化境”是众多翻译工作者梦寐以求的理想目标。但怎样才能在翻译中达到化境 ,尚没有相对准确完整的说法。符号学的翻译观为“化境”的具体达成提供了切实可行的理论基础。我们尝试运用符号学翻译观为如何达成“化境”提出了相应的层次、步骤和途径 ,即“语用合一 ,意境再现”。

Qian Zhongshu's notion of 'transformation' is the ideal goal that many translators are keen to attain. But how to achieve such a goal remains controversial among translators. The semiotic approach to translation offers a practicably theoretical basis for the realization of transformation. This paper attempts to give a theoretical and practical interpretation of transformation from the semiotic perspective and advances the corresponding levels, procedures and ways in which transformation can be realized, that is, 'pragmatic merging and imagery reappearance'.
