从“见”、“思”、“言”、“行”四个侧面比较海明威的两个短篇小说———《白象似的群山》和《雨里的猫》的主题思想和主题思想的建构 ,发现女主人公苦心孤诣建构起来的理想之梦被男主人公无情地消解 ,她只能默默地咀嚼孤独与幻灭。

The themes and the thematic constructions of Ernest Hemingway's two short stories 'Hills Like White Elephants' and 'The Cat in the Rain' are compared from such four perspectives of 'seeing', 'thinking', 'speaking' and 'acting' The heroines' hard constructed dreams are callously destroyed by the heroes, and consequently the heroines have to silently 'chew' their loneliness and disillusion
