内卫气一词被引入 ,用于艾滋病辨病。内卫气作为人体正气的一部分来源于元气 ,受后天水谷之滋养。内卫气属气属阴 ,行于脉内及脉外。其功能有 :1 防御作用 :抵抗外邪侵袭 ;2 监督作用 :识别、杀伤和破坏瘕积聚的初起成分 ,防止肿瘤的发生 ;3 自稳作用 :对自身采取谦和形成共处状态。艾滋病病毒侵入机体 ,使内卫气虚损、衰竭是艾滋病患者易感外邪及易患肿瘤的原因。补内卫气。

Nei Wei Qi(Internal Defensive Qi),as a term,is introduced for the differential diagnosis of Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome(AIDS).Nei Wei Qi is one part of the zheng qi of the body. It comes from yuan qi,and is nourished by the acquired nutrients.It belongs to qi and yin.It is located inside and outside of blood vessels.It runs through the entire body including five zang organs,six fu organs,head,limbs,etc. The normal function of Nei Wei Qi is one of fundamental factors to ensure the normal function of zang fu organs.Nei Wei Qi deficiency is one of the reasons for zang fu organ deficiency. The three functions of Nei Wei Qi are defence,surveillance,and tolerance.The defence means that Nei Wei Qi recognizes,mobilizes,attacks,and eliminates the xie qi(pathogens,such as macrobiotics,vaccines,and toxins.)When Nei Wei Qi is deficient,the body is easy to get frequent and severe infections that hard to cure.The surveillance refers to the Nei Wei Qi attacking and eliminating cancer cells.When Nei Wei Qi is deficient,the yin and qi are deficient,the qi and blood are stagnant;dampness and phlegm accumulate.The phlegm,turbulence,qi,and blood stick together to develop tumors.While tolerance means the Nei Wei Qi can recognize and differentiate “foreign” and “self”. The “foreign” is attacked,and the “self” is not affected by Nei Wei Qi. When tolerance is disturbed,the Nei Wei Qi will act against “self” and cause autoimmune diseases.HIV invades,damages,and destroys the Nei Wei Qi.Patients have frequent and severe infections,including opportunistic infections and cancers.
