New Millennium Calls for More Qualified C-E Translators

随着我国改革开放的不断深入 ,对外交流的日益扩大以及全球一体化步伐的加快 ,从事翻译工作的人数与日俱增 ,翻译队伍不断壮大。翻译在让中国了解世界 ,让世界了解中国方面的重要作用日益显现。但是 ,长期以来 ,我国的翻译工作基本上都是以外译中为主 ,加之中译外人才培养工作没有受到应有的重视 ,致使我国中译外翻译人才目前极其缺乏 ,直接影响了我国对外宣传以及我国人民与世界其他国家人民间的正常交流。因此 ,培养一大批合格的新世纪所需要的中译外翻译人才不仅是我国翻译事业的需要 ,而且是我国改革开放、实现中国走向世界和中华民族复兴的需要。

With the deepening of opening to the outside world,the growing expansion of China's exchange with other countries in the world and the progress of globalization. there are more and more people engaged in the work of translation. The important role of translation in letting the world know China and China know better of the world is becoming more protrusive. But for a long period of time in the past, the work of translation was largely based on the translation from English into Chinese, little attention was paid to the training of C-E translators. As a result, there is a great shortage of C-E translators in our country today. Hence, it is not only the need of development of the cause of translation, but also the need of our opening to the outside as well as the realization of China's rejuvenation to train a large number of more qualified C-E translators.
