Blending Theoretic Account of Translation under Metaphoric Structures

隐喻结构对翻译的论述虽有局限性,但的确解释了翻译中的某些突显现象。本文从交织的角度解释翻译中的隐喻结构,通过对隐喻结构源语(域)与的语(域)的整合分析,再现翻译中意义转换的心理运作过程,论证了隐喻结构对翻译解释的局限性在于泛化个别整合模式;同时指出若将交织作为独立认知运作,则能发挥其动态整合功能,为对翻译的全面解释提供契机。

Metaphoric structures, in spite of their limitations, can illustrate some of the prominent phenomena in translation. This article employsthe blending theory to explain the metaphoric structures in translation. Through a conceptual integration of source language (domain) and targetlanguage (domain), the article seeks to represent the psychological processes of meaning transference in translation. It shows that the limitationof metaphoric accounts of translation lies in their generalization of specific models of integration. It also points out that the blending theory, asan independent cognitive operation, will bring a brand new perspective to translation studies on account of its dynamic function.
