Software Industry in Dandong City: Present Situation and Problems

丹东市软件产业起步较晚,目前处于“襁褓”期,基本是各企业的自发行为。产品大多属于嵌入式或系统集成产品,产业规模小,从业人员少。尽管“双软”认定数量在辽宁省处于前列,但总体水平比较落后。制约丹东市软件产业发展的最大不利因素是人才资源匮乏,同时政府主导作用欠缺,城市工业经济环境也不利。

The software industry in Dandong City starts late, and now is in the 'cradle' period. Software products are developed and produced spontaneously by tens of businesses, most of which are embedded or system integrated products used in the fields such as mine, highway, public utilities, electric power, industrial flaw detection. At present, Dandong's software industry has a small scale and only a small number of employees. There has been no product exported. Although the numbers of registered software products and authenticated software businesses are in the leading group among the fourteen cities in Liaoning Province, its overall development has been quite backward. Among the main factors that restrict Dandong's software industry, the biggest one is its considerably deficient talent resource. In the meantime, the lack of the leading function of the government and the poor industrial environment are also unfavorable.
