Lu Fei-kui's Concept of Women's Education and Its Realistic Meaning

近代出版家、教育家陆费逵对妇女问题和妇女教育有许多论述。他深刻地分析当时的女子地位、实力,认为教育是增进妇女实力、提高妇女地位的有力途径,提出女子教育的实施办法,促进了妇女解放,推动了女子教育的发展和女性的自我觉醒,对我们今天探究女子解放和教育仍有借鉴和启发意义。本文试图客观地总结其女子教育思想的进步和不足,结合当前的社会背景及女子教育问题,探寻他的女子教育思想对现实的启示。

The modern publisher and educationist Lu Fei-kui gave a host of expositions on the women issues and women's education. Basing himself on an in-depth analysis of the status and capability of the women of his time, he regarded education as a powerful means of enhancing women's capability and status, and followed this up with the proposition of a series of measures for implementing women's education. All these helped accelerate the emancipation of women, promote the development of women's education and speed up their self-awakening, and can still serve as a source of inspiration and enlightenment in our research on this issue today. This paper attempts to generalize the advantages and disadvantages of Lu Fei-kui's concept of women's education objectively, and to explore the realistic meaning of his concept by connecting it with the social setting and women's education at the present time.
