A Brief Analysis of the Development of U S -Korean Alliance After the Cold War

作为冷战产物的美韩联盟关系 ,在经历了冷战结束、苏联解体的历史巨变后 ,对双方来说仍十分重要。在美国看来 ,驻军韩国、维护朝鲜半岛的稳定对实现其东亚战略有直接关系 ;对韩国来说 ,加强美韩联盟具有保护国家安全、推动南北统一进程的现实意义。世纪之交 ,朝鲜半岛局势出现缓和的迹象 。

The U S -Korean alliance, which is one of the outcomes of the Cold War, is still of great importance to each party after the end of the Cold War and the disintegration of the former Soviet Union. To the American side, garrisoning Korea and keeping the stability of the Korean Peninsula is directly related to its East Asia strategy; from the Korean point of view, strengthening the alliance is significant to its national safety and North South unification. With the beginning of the new millennium, however, the U S -Korean alliance meets new challenges as the hostility between the North and the South abates.
