摘要
本文使用自行设计的社会文化试题对一百五十位已经通过大学英语四级考试的非英语专业学生进行了测试,并用计算机对数据进行相关度和t值分析。结果表明学生的语言能力和社会文化能力之间的相关度很低。在此调查的基础上,本文从教学大纲、课程设置、教材编写、教学法和测试等层面探讨了如何在大学英语教学中培养学生的社会文化能力。
A self made socio cultural test is administered to a hundred and fifty non English major students who have already passed College English Test Band 4. Correlational analysis and t test are then conducted by computer. The outcome has confirmed that there is a low degree of correlation between students linguistic competence and socio cultural competence. Based on this survey, the authors give some tentative suggestions on how to cultivate the socio cultural competence of non English majors in college English teaching from the perspectives of syllabus design, curricula, textbook compiling, teaching methods and testing system.
