By analyzing parables, this paper briefly compares the framework of Conceptual Metaphor Theory and Conceptual Integration from these aspects: domains and mental spaces, mapping and projection, entrenchment and on\|line process, and Invariance Principle and Optimality Principle, with the view of expanding the theoretical space for metaphor studies, literary criticism and discourse analysis.
