车字古有“居”音

The Ancient Pronunciation of “车” as “居”

本文通过对一些文献材料及现代方言的考察;;证明车字古有“居”音并非古人杜撰。车字古有“居”“舍”二音,可能是方言的差别;;同时也反映了汉语语音的演化。这种演化遗迹在现代汉语方言中犹存。

Classical texts have proved that “车” shared the pronunciation “居” and “舍”, which can be found in some existing dialects. Thus it pronounced as “居”（MC kio＜ OC kia） is not a fictitious pronunciation in the ancient time. It is argued that such a phenomenon probably showed the difference in ancient dialects and the evolution in Chinese phonetics.
