Toward Bakhtin's semiotic kingdom

本文重点讨论前苏联学者米哈伊尔·巴赫金 (Bakhtin)的符号学观点 ,内容涉及符号的定义 ;符号与物 ;符号与精神 ,特别是与意识和意识形态的关系 ;符号与心理学 ;符号的理解和解码 ;符号与文本和话语 ,符号的存在和社会性。本文除表明巴赫金的论述对符号学的深远意义 ,也指出学术界在巴赫金符号学理论研究中的争论 ,如二元现象 。

The paper presents the semiotic views held by the former Soviet scholar Mikhail Bakhtin. It covers topics such as definition,the complex relation between sign and matter,spirit(with particular reference on consciousness and ideology),psychology(including understanding and decoding),text/discourse,beingness and social basis,etc.Apart from the significance of his viewpoints on semiotic scholarship,the paper also touches upon some relevant issues,such as dualism in Bakhtin's s theory,and limitation of his views with respect to sign and context.
