篇章衔接和修辞是语言学研究的两个重要方向 ,二者在研究的内容、方式上有差异 ,但在研究语言交际方面可以有共同的切入点。篇章衔接致力于语言交际的顺畅、连贯 ,修辞研究语言交际的艺术化 ,研究表达效果。以越语为例 。

Text coherence and rhetoric are two major domains of linguistic research. They differ from each other in terms of research contents and methods, but they share common ground if language is studied from a communicative approach. While text coherence aims at the smoothness of communication, rhetoric deals with the artistic quality and expressive effect. This paper is intended to make a study of the different roles in coherence played by different rhetorical devices in text, taking Vietnamese language as an example.
