Since the end of the Cold War, the original mutual security insurance treaty between Japan and U S. has been adjusted and up to 1999, the adjustment was almost complete. Although the new treaty shows continuity of the old one in the Cold War, it is quite different in terms of its background, content and impact. The new treaty presents a great challenge to the security in Asian Pacific region. Therefore, close studies of the treaty will be of great importance to our country.
