“全盘西化”祖于吴虞论

处理中西文化关系的“全盘西化”模式 ,在 2 0世纪的中国影响深远。此一模式的始祖是“四川省只手打孔家店的老英雄”吴虞 ,而不是学界常说的胡适。理由有二 :吴虞是明确摧毁“中体西用”之“体”的第一人 ;吴虞是明确使用“西式”武器摧毁此“体”的第一人。

The pattern of'Total Occidentalization'in dealing with the cultural relations between China and the West has a far-reaching influence on China in the 1900's. The initiator of such a pattern is Wuyu, who lashed out at Confucianism alone, instead of Hushi, the one once recognized by the Chinese academic circle. The reasons are that Wuyu is not only the first man who lashed out at traditional Chinese system, but also the first one who did so with 'Western' weapons.
