The Influence of the Internal Contradictions among the KMT Warlords on the Strategic Shift of the Central Red Army

分化敌人,利用敌人内部矛盾为我所用,是中国共产党取得新民主主义革命胜利的宝贵经验之一。中央红军在长征的战略转移过程中,正是充分利用了国民党军阀之间的矛盾,制定符合具体情况的军事策略,先后改变在湖南和西南建立根据地的战略,最后决定把革命的大本营放在西北。从此,中国革命翻开了新的一页。

To split up the enemy and take advantage of its internal contradictions is one of the valuable experiences for the CCP to win the new democratic revolution. It was by making use of the contradictions among the KMT warlords that the Central Red Army formulated the corresponding military tactics for the concrete conditions in the strategic shift of the Long March. They changed the strategies of establishing the base areas in Hunan and other provinces in the Southwest and finally decided to set up the supreme revolutionary headquarters in the Northwest. Following this, the Chinese revolution went into a new stage.
