Historical experiences of the 20th century must be cherished. In the 20th century, socialist revolution took place in underdeveloped countries instead of in developed countries. The practice of socialist construction in underdeveloped countries reveals that it is essential to determine the actual stage of socialism, to concentrate on socialist modernization in time, to understand the relationship between planning and marketing, and to learn good experiences from developed countries. Deng Xiaoping Theory has made breakthroughs on the above-mentioned problems, posing a new milestone in the development of Marxism. Information revolution and economic globalization present more challenges than opportunities, so socialism might take a longer and harder course to replace capitalism. 21st century socialism is an exploration starting from a higher point, and is sure to be more fresh and mature.
