摘要
与形式语义学不同 ,认知语法认为 ,意义并不是句子的真值条件 ,而是与句子有关的概念化过程 ,在本质上等于概念化或心智经验。本文基于 Langacker的《认知语法》等相关论著 ,阐释、分析了规约意象意义 ,类化、总结了其特征。规约意象意义指谓的是 ,说话人在心智上以不同方式构建所思考之场景的能力 ,具体分为 :加细程度、假设和期待、结构凸显、述义的比例和辖域以及视角。对规约意象意义的研究和探讨具有重要的语言学理论意义和不容忽视的教学应用意义。
Different from formal semantics, cognitive grammar suggests that the meaning of a sentence is not its truth-conditions, but the conceptualization related to it, being equal to conceptualization or mental experience in nature. Based on Langacker's monographs and theses concerning cognitive grammar, the paper analyzes and explicates conventional imagery meaning, as well as its categories and features. Conventional imagery meaning subsumes level of specificity, assumptions and expectations, salience of structures, scale and scope of predictions and perspective. The paper suggests that study of conventional imagery meaning is significant both in theory and in practice.
