Some Reflections on the American Women Writer Edith Wharton

This thesis gives an account of the American woman writer Edith Wharton from the following four aspects: criticism on her works when she was still alive; Wharton and her works in the male-dominated critical world of America; revival of interest in her and her works from the perspective of feminism and lastly revival of interest in her and her works from the perspective of modernism. It shows us the important position Wharton holds in the American literature and the necessity for the Chinese literary researchers and learners to know all about this.
