This paper presents and analysis of the causes of Yu Zhi Ⅱ's sinking after it stranded. The author further lays stress on illustrating the steering methods and cautions of self-refloating when the ship runs on rocks and strands. It is important that navigator should have fundamental knowledge of self—refloating so that a safe self—refloating could be achieved.
