Structure and Fabrication of Long March 2E Payload Fairing

1990年7月16日我国自行设计、研制的新一代大型捆绑式运载火箭长征二号E首次发射试验成功,将一颗澳星-B的模拟星和巴基斯坦搭载星BADR—A送入轨道。它标志着我国运载火箭设计和制造技术有了重大突破,大大增强了我国低地轨道和地球同步转移轨道的运载能力,使长征系列火箭可以发射世界上大部分商业卫星。这种火箭1992年又为澳大利亚发射了两颗由美国休斯公司制造的澳星-B通信卫星。

The payload fairing of Long March 2E launch vehicle features large payload envelope , light weight, reasonable structural design and advanced materials apd forming process. The fairing performed satisfactorily during ground tests and the vehicle's first test flight conducted in July, 1990. Its high reliability was shown further through the successful launches of two Aussat B communications Satellite in 1992. The structure, materials and forming technique are briefly introduced in this paper.
