摘要
在我国考古发掘出土的器物中,玻璃器的出土量很小,对其研究也很少。实际上,玻璃器本身所含的信息往往是其他器物所不能替代的。今作玻璃考古三则,与同行探讨。
The glass articles from archaeological excavation, despite their small number. carry a
lot of messages from past, messages that no other things can provide. This essay analyses
three batches of glass articles unearthed in recent years. Of the articles I like to cite a
pendant in the form of a human head uncovered in Shandong, Indian glass beads at the
site of the western gate of the Yongning Temple of the Northern Wei in Luoyang and bro-
ken Islamic glass pieces unearthed in Yangzhou. All of them have undergone scientific
tests. The pendant seems to be a lead - barium glass imitation by a Western Han worker
of some Phoenician product. The glass beads are so tiny (between 0.1 and 0.35 cm in di-
ameter) in size yet so huge in number (150 000 pieces) and different in color. The beads
are Indian products, since they were made of segments cut of a glass tube, a method quite
different from the Chinese manner. The Islamic bits of broken glass unearthed in
Yangzhou were made of imported raw materials, but melt and processed in Yangzhou.
