伴随着生产力水平的提高以及两极格局的解体,经济全球化已成为当今世界经济发展的客观趋势。同时,经济全球化对现代国际关系中多极化、两极分化、区域化等各种趋势的发展也具有举足轻重的影响。
Deputy Director of American and Oceanian Department, CAIFC. TOPIC IN DISCUSSION is a column designed for publishing articles of controversial nature or articles less relevant to current regional issues. Lu wei's article belongs to the latter. The article lists four features characterizing economic globalization. One, the essential factors of production are flowing fully freely and in great quantity all over the world. Two, the economies of all countries are deeply interdependent and are strongly affected by world economy. Three, mergers of enterprises are multiplied and the size of hyper transnational companies reaches an unprecedented scope. Four, there is inequality between developed and developing countries. Economic globalization, the article concludes, does have its influence on the international relations it will promote world multipolarization, promote regional integration and will help to align the cooperation among various countries. Of course, the economic globalization will also accelerate the imbalance and polarization between North and South. This issue, as a rule, publishes a list of CPDS's academic activities in the first half of 2000 for readers' reference.
