本文汇集了古今中外资料,追溯"矿物"一词在东西方的起源。讨论了西文 Mineral 东渐中国的时间、汉文"矿物"一词的创立,对比研究了"矿物"词义的演进,从一个侧面揭示了我国近代矿场学的发展历史。
Collecting all the relevant data,both ancient and modern,Chinese andforeign,this article traces the origin of the word'mineral'in languages ofthe East and the West with a discussion of the time when this word wasintroduced intoChina and the evolution of the meaning of it,thus showingthe history of China's mineralogy in on aspect.
