This essay proposes the idea that,in the new period,extracurricular activities are an effective way to stren gthen the ideological and political work of co llege students.It analyses the features of extracurricular activities-orieatation,initiative,flexibility and sense o f contemporaneity.It serves the dev elopment of college students and con forms to their characteristics and cognitiv e law.Furthermore.the article offe rs the content,form,method and mean s of this work,and puts forword some suggestions on how to perfect its mechanism.
