In this paper, we discuss the syntactic problem about the in-sentence nouns which are marked by quantifiers like 'yi ge ren (a man), liang ben shu (two books)' and so forth. We suggest that cognitive saliency promotes the marking of in-sentence noun. From this cognitive linguistic viewpoint, it is found that those nouns which refer to things appearing or disappearing will be marked by some quantifier as a prototype phenomenon.
