Concerned about Gender Issues among Chinese People of Advanced Age──Project Research Introduction of Factors Influencing the Health and Long Life of Chinese People of Advanced Age

基于高龄老年问题主要是女性老年问题的认识，本文试图从女性老人的发展角度介绍“中国高龄老人健康长寿影响因素研究项目”的立项背景和意义、项目的基本内容及研究目标，然后对1998年调查的初步结论进行性别分析，包括高龄老人“七多七少”的特征，高龄老人在经济供养、医疗保健、生活照料、精神慰藉等方面面临的许多困难和问题、影响健康长寿的因素分析等。文章最后对高龄老人健康长寿研究进行了展望。

Beased on on her understanding of the question of senior citizens as mainly a question of female senior citizens, the author describes, from the sexual distinction angle, the background and significance of the project“A Studyo f the Factors Affecting the Health and Lifespan of China's Senior Citizens,' and the basic contents and research objectives of the project. Then she makes a gender analysis of the preliminary conclusions drawn from the 1998 investigations, including the “seven excesses and seven scarcities' of senior citizens, the numerous problems confronting them in financial support, medical care, attendance to their wants in daily life, spiritual consolation, and the factors affecting their health and lifespan. The article winds up with the author's anticipation of the prospects for the research project.
