透视上海的近现代女子教育

伴随西方文化的不断渗入和本国资本主义文化的衍生,上海女子教育在近现代发生了重大变化,观念层面、制度层面和实践层面实现了从传统模式到现代模式的初步转化:教育权利下移,女子教育民主性色彩日渐浓厚;与社会需要逐渐吻合,女子教育实用性不断增强;现代知识体系基本形成,女子教育向科学性迈进;为女界广泛培养人才,女子教育开放性程度加深。上海女子教育的发展表明,中国女子教育在早期现代化的道路上迈出了坚实的步伐。

The constant infiltration of western culture and the evolution of capita list culture in China have been coupl ed with tremendous changes in women’s education in modern and contempora ry Shanghai.These changes include t he initial trans-formation of the traditional mode to the modern mode on the planes of conce pt,system and practice:the downward transfer of the right to education and the steady increase of democratic coloring i n women’s education;the steady enhancement of practicability in women’s education;the basic formulation o f a modern knowledge system and the ad vance of women’s ed-ucation along scientific lines;the fostering of a galaxy of female talen ts and the increased opening-up of wo men’s education.The development of women’s education in Shanghai shows that wo men’s education in China has taken firm an d steady steps forward in the early stage of China’s modernization drive.
