摘要
The Etruscans as we call them in English, are the Tyrsenoi or Tyrrhenoi of the Greeks and the Etrusci of the Romans:They called themselves Rasenna. In the 8 th century B.C.Etruscan civilization appeared in modern Tuscany and from the 7 th to 6 th century B.C. it came to a climax in Italian peninsula. Etruscan culture is an essential ancient civilization not only because of its uniqueneis, but also of its influence on Rome.\;The problem of the origins of Etruria has for long been discussed. Even in antiquity, views on the subject were divided. One was from Herodotus that Etruscans emigrated by sea from Anatolian Lydia and another one was from Dionysius of Halicarnassus that Etruscans were autochthonous. These two views are the bases of modern discussions on the enigma of Etruscans. It is suggested in this paper that the origins of Etruscans is a combination of the civilization that developed in Italian soil, the Villanovan culture, and another civilization from overseas, a certain ancient culture from the eastern Aegean Sea.
