天津是我国北方最大的沿海开放城市,抓住“入世”机遇,加快城市发展,将关系到天津定位的实现和21世纪经济社会发展的大局。从总体看,“入世”将为天津经济带来广阔的发展空间,有利于天津市场经济体制的建立与完善,有利于为实现跨越式发展创造条件。为此,有必要加强“入世”研究,从更新观念、加快政府职能转变、迅速提高企业竞争力等方面入手,采取积极的应对措施。

Tianjin is the biggest open coastal city in the North of China, Tianjin should grasp the oppor-tunity of 'WTO Entrance , speeding up the urban development, it shall relate to the realization of the fixed position of Tianjin and it shall relate to the overall situation of the economic and social development of Tianjin in the 21st century. With an eye to the situation in whole, WTO Entrance shall bring more wider develop-mental space for Tianjin economy, it is advantageous for the establishment and perfection of Tianjin market e-conomic system, it is advantageous for creating the conditions for realizing the leaping type of development. For this purpose, it is needful to strengthen the studies of WTO Entrance , we should start with renovating the ideas and speeding up the changes of the Governmental functions, enhancing the competitiveness of the enterprises rapidly, and we should select and adopt the positive corresponding measures.
